  • Large Skillet or Wok

  • ½ cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon garlic paste*
  • 1 tablespoon ginger paste*
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1 12-ounce bag frozen stir fry vegetables
  • 1 6-ounce package chow mein stir fry noodles** cooked according to package instructions
  • sesame seeds and green onions for garnish optional

  • In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, vinegar and red pepper flakes (if using); set aside.
  • In a large skillet or wok, brown the ground pork.
  • Add the vegetables and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Pour in the sauce and the cooked noodles.
  • Let the stir fry cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently, until piping hot.
  • Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions, if desired.

*I like to use the store-bought tubes of garlic paste and ginger paste.  However, you could opt for super finely minced garlic and ginger instead.
**You can either use a 6 oz package of the uncooked chow mein noodles (they only take 3 minutes to boil) or a 14.2 oz package of the pre-cooked stir fry noodles.
