Preheat oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a large bowl (a stand mixer will work best) cream together the butter and sugars until fluffy.
1 cup salted butter, 1 1/2 cups sugar, 1 cup brown sugar
Add the eggs and vanilla and combine.

Add the flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt and stir until combined.
1 1/2 cups flour, 1/2 cup cocoa powder, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon salt
Stir in the oatmeal and nuts.
3 cups quick oats, 1/2 cup chopped pecans
Scoop onto prepared baking sheets and bake for 8-10 minutes. Add additional time as needed, but make sure to not overbake!
Remove to a cooling rack.
