- 1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon garlic paste*
- 1 tablespoon ginger paste*
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
- 1 pound ground pork
- 1 12-ounce bag frozen stir fry vegetables
- 1 6-ounce package chow mein stir fry noodles** cooked according to package instructions
- sesame seeds and green onions for garnish optional
In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, vinegar and red pepper flakes (if using); set aside.
In a large skillet or wok, brown the ground pork.
Add the vegetables and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Pour in the sauce and the cooked noodles.
Let the stir fry cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently, until piping hot.
Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions, if desired.
*I like to use the store-bought tubes of garlic paste and ginger paste. However, you could opt for super finely minced garlic and ginger instead.
**You can either use a 6 oz package of the uncooked chow mein noodles (they only take 3 minutes to boil) or a 14.2 oz package of the pre-cooked stir fry noodles.
Try adding chopped peanuts on top for extra flavor and a little added crunch!
