- 3/4 cup cocoa powder
- 2/3 cup salted butter melted
- 1/2 cup very hot water (or coffee)
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 1/3 cups flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 12-ounce bag semi-sweet chocolate chips (or chunks)
- 1 4-ounce high quality chocolate bar (I like semi-sweet chocolate) chopped
Preheat oven to 350F and grease a 9x13 pan.
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder and melted butter.
Pour the very hot water in and whisk until well-combined. Let cool for a couple of minutes.
Whisk in the sugar, eggs and vanilla.
Then, stir in the flour, salt, baking soda and chocolate chips.
Spread the batter into the prepared 9x13 pan and top with pieces of the chopped chocolate bar.
Bake for 25-30 minutes.
