Ingredients

  • 1 pound thick-cut bacon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375℉ and line a rimmed baking sheet with foil and place an oven-safe wire rack on top.
  • Place the bacon in an even layer on top of the rack, making sure the pieces don't overlap.
    1 pound thick-cut bacon
  • In a small microwave-safe bowl, combine the brown sugar, maple syrup, cayenne pepper, red pepper flakes and black pepper.
    1/2 cup brown sugar, 2 tablespoons maple syrup, 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper, 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes, 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Microwave for 30-45 seconds, stirring once in the middle of the cook time. This will make the mixture more runny and easy to drizzle over the bacon.
  • Drizzle over the bacon and spread with the back of a spoon. Don't worry if you can't get it super even - it'll melt and coat the bacon nicely!
  • Bake for 28-32 min or until the bacon is golden brown and crisp.
  • Serve warm and sprinkle with parsley, if desired.

Notes

Though I tend to make this with thick cut bacon, you can also use regular bacon.  You'll likely need two sheet pans to make sure they're not overlapping and will just use a little bit of the drizzle on each.  The cooking time will be significantly less.
