Slow Cooker Country Style Ribs

Slow Cooker Country Style Ribs are fall-apart tender & full of flavor! They're easy to whip up, inexpensive and so SO yummy!

Equipment

  • 1 6-quart slow cooker

Ingredients

  • 3-4 pounds bone-in country style ribs*
  • seasoned salt such as Lawry's
  • 1 12-ounce can Dr. Pepper or Coke
  • 1 1/4 cups barbecue sauce

Instructions

  • Place the ribs in the bottom of the slow cooker.

  • Sprinkle with seasoned salt.

  • Pour the can of soda over the ribs.
    1 12-ounce can Dr. Pepper
  • Drizzle the barbecue sauce over the ribs
    1 1/4 cups barbecue sauce
  • Cover with the slow cooker lid and cook for 3-4 hours on high or 5-6 hours on low, or until fork-tender.
  • OPTIONAL: Preheat the oven to broil and line a rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil. Place the ribs on the pan and brush with additional barbecue sauce. Broil for 2-4 minutes, watching closely so they don't burn, until glossy and bubbly in places.
  • Serve warm.

Notes

*Boneless Country Style Ribs can also be used.  However, please note that they are typically much smaller and therefore take less time to cook.  Start with 2 hours on high or 4 hours on low and add time as needed.
*Depending on the size of the ribs, plan to serve about 1-2 country-style ribs per person.
