Strawberry Rice Krispie Treats

Freeze-dried strawberries and gooey marshmallows come together to make these the most delicious Strawberry Rice Krispies!  They’re perfect for Valentine’s Day, bake sale treats or easy after-school snacks!

Ingredients

  • 1 1-ounce bag freeze-dried strawberries
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 10-ounce bag mini marshmallows
  • 5 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1/4 cup festive sprinkles optional
  • 1-2 ounces white chocolate chips or almond bark for drizzle on top, optional

Instructions

  • Grease a 9x13 pan with cooking spray or butter.
  • Add the freeze-dried strawberries to a food processor. Process on high for 30 seconds or until mostly powder; set aside.

  • In a large microwaveable bowl, add the butter and marshmallows. Cook on high for 3 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds, or until the butter and marshmallows are melted.
    4 tablespoons butter, 1 10-ounce bag mini marshmallows
  • Stir in the strawberry powder.
  • Add the Rice Krispies cereal and sprinkles and stir well.
    5 cups Rice Krispies cereal, 1/4 cup festive sprinkles
  • Using a greased rubber spatula, press the mixture into the prepared pan.
  • Optional: Melt the white chocolate until smooth; drizzle over the Rice Krispies. Garnish with additional sprinkles, if desired.

Notes

Making these for Valentine's Day?  Cut the treats into hearts with a heart-shaped cookie cutter!!
Store Rice Krispie treats covered tightly and at room temperature so they stay nice and soft.
