- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 3/4 cup salted butter softened (but not melted!)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts optional
- One 9-inch pie crust*
Preheat oven to 325°F.
In a large bowl (or the bowl of a stand mixer), whisk the eggs until foamy.
Add the flour, sugar and brown sugar and mix well.
Mix in the softened butter and vanilla and then the chocolate chips and nuts (if using).
Pour the batter into your prepared pie crust and smooth the top.
Bake for 50 minutes, or until a toothpick halfway between the center and the pie crust comes out clean.
*My flaky homemade pie crust is excellent if you've got a little extra time!
Let the pie cool for at least 30 minutes before slicing to let it set up a bit.
