Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 12-count package Hawaiian rolls
  • 6 slices cheddar cheese
  • 1 pound cooked pulled pork
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/4 cup butter melted
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon parsley
  • coleslaw and additional barbecue sauce, for topping optional

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F and grease a 9×13 pan with cooking spray.
  • Remove slider buns from their package and slice horizontally, so you have a top layer and a bottom layer.

  • Place the bottom layer in the prepared pan.
  • Add the cheddar cheese in an even layer.

  • Combine the pulled pork and barbecue sauce and spoon it over the cheese.
    1 pound cooked pulled pork, 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • Top the sliders with the bun tops and set aside.
  • Make the sauce by combining the melted butter, brown sugar, garlic and onion powders, and parsley; brush it over the sliders.

  • Cover the sliders with foil and bake for 20 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and bake an additional 3-5 minutes or until heated through and golden brown on top.
  • Serve with coleslaw and additional barbecue sauce, if desired.

Notes

My favorite way to prepare pulled pork is in the slow cooker with Dr. Pepper - give it a try!
I recommend making these in a glass or ceramic pan - metal conducts heat better and will overcook the bottom of the buns before the sliders are heated through.
Let the sliders cool before storing in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
