Try This Ranch Snack Mix Recipe For Your Next Party
WARNING: This easy snack mix is highly addictive! Don’t say I didn’t warn you! 😉 Ha! But really, once you have a bite of this snack mix, you won’t want to stop!
I love this crunchy mix for many reasons:
- The robust flavor from the seasoning mixture is savory, a bit tangy, and ….addictive!
- Super easy to put together (no baking needed!)
- It only takes about 10 minutes to make (plus a little resting time for the flavors to fully meld together).
- It’s a fun mix of crackers/pretzels/chips!

Key Ingredients
- Popcorn oil – I use the Orville Redenbacher “Popcorn & Topping Buttery Flavored Oil”
- Ranch seasoning mix packet
- Lemon pepper seasoning
- Dill weed – use the dried stuff, not fresh for this recipe.
- About 22 cups of crackers – I always use Wheat Thins, Gardettos, Chicken in a Biskit, mini Club crackers, Cheezit Ranch Grooves, and Mega Goldfish (see below for other options if you can’t find these)

Crackers in a Ranch Party Mix
I love the combination of crackers and snacks listed in this ranch party mix recipe, but don’t worry if you can’t find one of them. There are plenty of easy substitutions that work just as well!
Essentially, you’ll just want to make sure you have about 22 cups of crackers total.
Other options that are great in this recipe are listed below:
- Veggie Straws
- Cheetos
- Pretzel Sticks or Pretzel Twists
- Cheezit Crackers (Cheddar or White Cheddar)
- Bugles

How to Make Homemade Ranch Snack Mix
It’s as easy as mix, dump, stir. Seriously! Just mix the oils and seasonings and pour over the crackers. Once you’ve got it stirred together well, it’s ready to enjoy (ok, plus a little resting time, but that´s only to make it even more delicious)!!
The one thing to be careful of is how you stir the mix. You want to be careful not to crush the crackers, so my recommendation is to place everything in a large container with a lid and slowly shake or flip numerous times.
Let it sit for 12+ hours before enjoying. That’ll give the crackers time to soak up all the delicious flavor, and it won’t look greasy!

How to Serve the Snack Mix
I like to serve this in a giant bowl with small disposable cups. The cups can scoop up the mixture and are easy to walk around with! It’s perfect for baby and bridal showers, birthday parties, football tailgates, and everything in between.
How to Store Leftover Party Mix
Simply store the mixture at room temperature in a tightly sealed container or in plastic bags with a good seal. This mix stays delicious for up to 1–2 weeks when stored properly in a cool, dry place.
And good news for those who love a make-ahead recipe. You can absolutely freeze this. Place it in freezer-safe bags or airtight containers and freeze for up to 2 months. When you’re ready to enjoy it, let the mix come to room temperature for a few minutes before serving.

This stuff is sooooo addicting!! We make it whenever we have the kids birthday parties or if we are having a get together. I sometimes add m&ms in for a sweet and salty mix 🙂
I couldn’t agree more!!! Such a fun (and EASY) mix – perfect for big get togethers! 🙂
Made this as a quick snack for a family car cruise this weekend. So easy and tastes amazing. Can’t wait to share it with the rest of the family!😁
It’s such a yummy (addicting! lol) snack! Thanks for sharing and for the great review! 🙂 -Kelsey
How long can you store it in a tightly sealed container? Looking to make it for a wedding .
It would be fine for at least a week in a tightly sealed container! 🙂 -Kelsey
I put mine in the freezer and it lasts forever and you can’t tell the difference
Hi! Have you ever froze this mix to use later? We are prepping for a large graduation party! Thanks!
I have not but know others who do freeze it and say it’s just as good! 🙂 ~Kelsey
Can I use 1 cup of canola oil instead of the popcorn oil?
You can – it just won’t have the yummy buttery flavor from the popcorn oil! 🙂
You don’t have to bake it in the oven?
You don’t! I like to let it set overnight to really let all the flavors soak in, but it’s delicious as is!
I made this for my son and daughter in laws bachelor/bachelorette party and it was a hit!! So yummy!! So easy and addictive!! Make it!! You won’t regret it!! 🥰❤️
Does this get soggy, or does everything maintain a good crunch over a couple of days in a tightly sealed container?
It stays nice and crisp!:)
We freeze it and take some out when we want. You won’t believe how good it tastes right from the freeze, a real game changer.
This mix is addicting and delicious! Will be making again!
This snack mix is fabulous! We could not stop eating it!
My new fav!
Let me start by saying I so appreciate this for a snack recipe that doesn’t include Chex cereal! Whew!! I have trial and errored so many Chex mixes I’ve lost count.
I love the quality ingredients in this except there are way too many crackers. Next time I think I will replace the Garadetto’s with a mix of peanuts and pretzels. But thats my preference.
My biggest issue with this recipe is not baking it. I mixed everything exactly as the recipe recommended and it was all too greasy so I put it in the oven for 30 min at 250 and it was perfect. Not sure how not baking works but what do I know? Lol
Hi Sue! I’m so glad you mentioned this. I just went in and edited the recipe to recommend waiting 12+ hours before enjoying. It takes a little time for the oil/flavor to really soak into the crackers and lose that shiny/greasiness! Though you certainly know what you’re doing in the kitchen as baking it would speed that process up! 🙂 Glad you enjoyed it! ~Kelsey
Can this be made ahead and out in freezer?
Yes! It sure can. I’d freeze it for 2-3 months max. ~Kelsey
How many does one batch feed? Want to make for wedding of like 500 ugh
Ohhh this would be such a good wedding snack!! This recipe makes about 28 (3/4 cup) servings. However, if you’re having other appetizers/snacks as well, you certainly wouldn’t expect everyone to take that much! FYI – You can freeze leftovers, if needed! 🙂 ~Kelsey
