Well, it’s a short list of simple ingredients which I think is always a plus!
- Baby Carrots – Bag of baby carrots, or you can also use regular carrots (simply peel the whole carrots and cut them into ½” thick coins)

How to make Brown Sugar Glazed Carrots in the Oven
This carrot recipe is an incredibly easy side dish to prepare.
You’ll start by placing the carrots in the bottom of a casserole dish.
Melt butter and drizzle over the carrots.
Sprinkle with brown sugar, salt and cinnamon.
Give the carrots a quick stir to make sure they’re all coated.
Place it in the oven, and allow them to roast for approximately 30 minutes.
How to make glazed carrots on the stove top
If you’d rather avoid using the oven, no problem at all! Preparing these on the stove is just as convenient and saves on oven space when you’re preparing a holiday meal.
Simply place all the ingredients along with ¼ cup of water (or orange juice!) into a saucepan, cover it with a lid, and cook for 10 minutes while covered. Then, remove the lid and continue cooking until the carrots become tender and develop a beautiful glaze.
The cooking time mentioned in the recipe ensures tender carrots, but you can play with the texture. If you like your carrots with a bit more bite, reduce the cooking time slightly. If you want them super tender and caramelized, extend the cooking time a bit. These brown sugar glazed carrots are a must-have side dish, perfect side dish for those busy weeknights, as they can be ready on your dinner table in just 30 minutes (in the oven OR on the stove)!
Can I make glazed carrots ahead of time?
Absolutely! If you’re gearing up for a large family gathering and want to get ahead of the game, no worries! You have the option to prepare the carrots in advance and store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
When you’re ready to enjoy them, place them in a saucepan over medium-low heat and stir frequently to prevent the brown sugar mixture from sticking to the pan. Once they’re nice and hot, they’re ready to serve!
It’s worth noting that reheating them ahead of time may cause the carrots to lose a bit of their vibrant color, which is the trade-off for the convenience of pre-cooking.

Can I tripple this recipe? Would the cooking time change?
Yes, you can absolutely triple the recipe! As long as the carrots are still in a single layer (not piled onto each other), it should be the same cooking time! :). ~Kelsey
I haven’t made your recipes yet (just found your site) but I’m going to make the baked beans from scratch for Easter dinner at my sister-in-laws this weekend. I’m thinking I’ll blow them away!!
Yes!!! I hope you and the family love them!!!! ~Kelsey
Can I use dark brown sugar?
Yes!! That should work great! ~Kelsey
Do you cover the carrots while cooking?
No need to cover them! However, if you feel like the brown sugar is starting to over-brown (or sticking to the pan), you can cover them with foil until the carrots are tender. ~Kelsey
Excellent!
