Jump to RecipeWhen most people think of appetizers and party dips, it’s the savory stuff that comes to mind. But for me, dessert dips are higher on the priority list for me….can you say sweet tooth?! From my Brownie Batter Dip to the Cherry Cheesecake Dip, I love ’em all!
And when fall rolls around and I’ve got more apples than I know what to do with, this easy caramel apple dip recipe is the perfect solution!
Ingredients Needed
- Cream Cheese – You can use regular or the 1/3 less fat neufchâtel cream cheese. Either way, make sure it’s been brought to room temperature so it’s easy to mix.
- Brown Sugar – Light or dark brown sugar works great. If you don’t have any, you could use white sugar in its place.
- Vanilla Extract
- Caramel Sauce – There are a few different options here. I like to use caramel topping in the glass jars next to the ice cream toppings at the grocery store. You could also use a creamy caramel dip (typically by the apples in the produce section) if you want it to be a little more thick. Of course, you could also opt to make your own caramel sauce!
- Crunchy Toffee Bits – I typically use a bag of Heath English Toffee Bits, but you could also use chopped Heath bars if you want a little chocolate on there!
- Fresh Apple Slices & Other Dippers
Other Optional Toppings
If you love caramel apples, you know how many great options there can be!! Here are a few options to choose from if you want to change it up a bit! For any of the ideas below, you can add them in combination with the toffee bits or skip them!
- Mini Chocolate Chips
- Crunchy Nuts (Peanuts, Pecans, Almonds, etc.)
- Crushed Graham Crackers or Biscoff Cookies
- Mini M&M’s
- Crushed Butterfinger Candies
How to Make Cream Cheese Caramel Apple Dip
You’ll begin by combining cream cheese, brown sugar and vanilla until smooth.
Then, spread the mixture onto the serving tray. If you don’t plan to enjoy the dip right away, cover it with plastic wrap and refrigerate until ready to serve.
When ready to serve, pour the caramel sauce over the cream cheese layer and sprinkle the toffee bits on top.
Serve with fresh cut apples and any other of your favorite dippers (ideas below)!
What are the best apples for dipping?
I really like serving this sweet dip with Granny Smith apples! The tart apples pair really well with the sweetness of the caramel sauce and toffee bits. My other favorite apples for dipping include honeycrisp, Pink Lady’s and Braeburn’s.
Not Just for Apples!
This dip is really great for crisp apple slices, but it doesn’t end there. Try it with other fresh fruit, graham crackers, pretzels, vanilla wafers, etc!
How to Store Leftovers
Store leftover dip in the fridge in an airtight container.
